Will There be a Season 2 of Nobody Wants This?
As of now, Netflix has not officially announced a second season of Nobody Wants This. The series has been charting in the top 10 lists across various countries indicating its popularity among viewers. Due to this success, we may expect a renewal announcement for the second season in the coming months.
When asked about the show's future, cast members Kristen and Adam expressed their commitment to the series, stating they would continue until "our faces fall off." While this enthusiasm is encouraging, fans will need to wait for an official update from Netflix regarding Season 2.
Nobody Wants This
Nobody Wants This is an American romantic comedy television series created by Erin Foster. It stars Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, and Timothy Simons. The show follows the unexpected relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman and an unconventional Jewish rabbi.
The series premiered on September 26, 2024. It was announced on March 1, 2023, that Netflix had greenlit the project, which is inspired by Erin Foster's real-life experiences. Alongside Foster, Kristen Bell plays a main role, while Steven Levitan serves as a co-executive producer.
The show is produced by Erin Foster, Kristen Bell, Steven Levitan, Craig DiGregorio, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Oly Obst, and Josh Lieberman, with production companies including Steven Levitan Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment, and 20th Television.
Nobody Wants This Ending Explained
In the finale of Nobody Wants This, the relationship between Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) faces a major challenge. After Joanne considers converting to Judaism to be with Noah, she ultimately decides she is not ready to make that commitment. This leads her to break off their relationship just as Noah is promoted to head rabbi.
Creator Erin Foster explains that Joanne's choice not to convert reflects her desire to be true to herself while still being open to change for someone she loves. Joanne is portrayed as an ambitious and independent woman, and Foster believes it’s okay for her to reconsider certain aspects of herself for a traditional partner like Noah.
In a surprising twist, the season ends with Noah racing after Joanne. He acknowledges that he can’t have both his promotion and a non-Jewish girlfriend, yet he still kisses her, leaving viewers with a romantic and hopeful moment. Foster aimed to create a satisfying ending that feels “crushable,” inspired by the classic film Sixteen Candles.
Nobody Wants This Plot
The story revolves around an unexpected romance between a rebellious rabbi and a loud, outspoken agnostic woman. An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi fall in love while navigating their very different lifestyles and the interference of their families. They must figure out if their relationship can survive these challenges.
