Who Plays Marcello in Emily in Paris?
In season 4 of Emily in Paris, Emily met Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, during a trip to Rome with her friend Mindy (Ashley Park). As usual, Emily quickly became interested in him, and their relationship is expected to be a key part of the upcoming fifth season.
In an interview with Netflix's Tudum on September 16, Lily Collins shared that she's excited to see how things develop between Emily and Marcello in the new season.
Who is Eugenio Franceschini?
Eugenio, 32, was born in Verona, Italy, to actor parents. His father, Gianni Franceschini, is a well-known theater actor. Their family runs a famous theater company called Viva Opera Circus, where Eugenio has played several lead roles.
At 18, Eugenio joined Italy’s national film school, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, which is very selective and accepts only a few students each year.
Eugenio Franceschini Career
Franceschini made his first movie appearance in 2012 with the romantic comedy White as Milk, Red as Blood (Bianca come il latte, rossa come il sangue). He later starred in other films and shows like Sapore di te (2014) and Maldamore (2014), for which he won the Guglielmo Biraghi Award from the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists.
Born on September 19, 1991, Franceschini is best known in Italy for these roles and for appearing in the 2016 TV series Medici. He met his partner while working on Medici, and they had a baby boy in 2018, whom he often shares pictures of on his Instagram.
Can We Expect Marcello In Season 5 of Emily in Paris?
Fans are excited for more Marcello because it means Emily will be moving on from her least-favorite boyfriend, Gabriel.
The actress who plays Emily is also looking forward to this change. She said in an interview that Marcello brings a new adventure for Emily and helps her find a better balance between work and life. They want to see Emily happy and not just in vacation mode, and Marcello arrives at just the right time for that.
As for when season 5 will come out, it’s not clear yet, but fans are hoping it will be in 2025, so they can see more of Emily and Marcello.
