Which SNL Cast Members are Leaving?
For the upcoming 50th season of SNL, several cast members are leaving. Chloe Troast, who joined SNL recently, announced she will not be returning this season. Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney are also departing; Johnson has confirmed there's "no bad blood," and Kearney has expressed gratitude for her time on the show. Chloe Troast shared her departure on Instagram, noting she wasn’t asked back. Despite these changes, new cast members will join the show.

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is a long-running American late-night sketch comedy show created by Lorne Michaels and Dick Ebersol. It first aired on NBC on October 11, 1975, with George Carlin as the host. Each episode features comedy sketches that often parody current events and pop culture, a celebrity guest host, and a musical performance.
The show is broadcast from Studio 8H at NBC's headquarters in New York City. Over the years, SNL has been a launching pad for many actors and comedians and has influenced TV comedy globally. It has won numerous awards, including 84 Primetime Emmys, and was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2000.
SNL Season 50
Saturday Night Live (SNL) is starting its 50th season on September 28! New episodes will air live on NBC and can be watched with a Peacock Premium subscription. If you miss an episode, you can stream it the next day on Peacock.
The new season will feature the usual sketches and "Weekend Update" segments, along with three new cast members. Also, SNL will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special three-hour live event on February 15, 2025.
Who is the Cast for the SNL Season 50?
For Season 50 of SNL, some cast members are not returning. However, Marcello Hernández, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker are back and have been promoted to Repertory Player status. Additionally, the show is introducing three new Featured Players: Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline.
SNL 50th Anniversary Celebration
SNL will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special weekend event. The highlight will be a three-hour live primetime special on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 8-11 p.m. ET on NBC.
More details about the celebration will be announced later, so make sure to mark your calendars for February 2025! The 49th season of SNL ended in May 2024 with a successful run of episodes hosted by Dua Lipa, Maya Rudolph, and Jake Gyllenhaal, and it was the top entertainment series in its time slot.
