Harris Faulkner began her career writing freelance articles for LA Weekly. She then interned at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles before becoming a reporter and anchor in Greenville, North Carolina. From 1992 to 2000, she worked as an evening anchor in Kansas City. After a brief stint in Minneapolis, she joined Fox News in 2005.
Harris Faulkner anchored Fox Report Weekend from 2011 to 2017. She also filled in for other Fox News hosts and appeared on Greg Gutfeld's shows. In 2014, she became a co-host on Outnumbered, and in 2017, she started anchoring Outnumbered Overtime, focusing more on hard news. In 2021, she launched her own show, The Faulkner Focus. While working at KSTP, Harris Faulkner won four regional Emmy Awards, including Best Anchor for three consecutive years from 2002 to 2004. She also received the Amelia Earhart Pioneering Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998 for her humanitarian work. In 2021, she was recognized in Variety's New York Women's Impact Report for her interview with Donald Trump following George Floyd's murder.

Harris Faulkner was born on October 13, 1965, at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father, Bobby R. Harris, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and served three tours in Vietnam.
Because of her father's military career, Harris moved around a lot as a child, even living at a U.S. military base in Stuttgart, West Germany. She later attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
