For the location, the Dally M Medal ceremony has been held at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney for the last two years. It is very likely that this year’s ceremony will also take place at the same venue, but no official confirmation has been given yet. (Source: Sporting News)

Who are the Dally M Awards?

Kalyn Ponga won the Dally M Medal in 2024. His amazing performances late in the season helped him win more votes and beat Shaun Johnson. Ponga played very well and finished strong to earn this top award.

In the women's competition, Tamika Upton from Newcastle also won the NRLW Dally M Medal. She played as an exciting fullback and just edged past Tarryn Aiken to win the women’s top award. It was a great achievement for both Ponga and Upton, making it a double win for Newcastle.

How to Watch?

This year’s ceremony will be shown on Fox League and can also be streamed online through Kayo Sports.

How are the Votes Awarded?

In the current system, two judges watch each NRL match. They give votes to players based on their performance, using a 3-2-1 scoring system. This means a player can get up to six votes for each match. The voting results for the first 12 rounds of the season are shared every Monday.

But after that, the votes are kept secret until the regular season ends. Before this system, only one judge gave votes for each game, still using the 3-2-1 scoring. The best player received three votes. Unlike now, the names of the judges were known to everyone.

NRL Points Leaderboard

Dylan Edwards, the fullback for the Panthers, was in first place in the NRL standings after Round 12. Nicho Hynes from the Sharks was just one point behind him, and Daly Cherry-Evans, a veteran player from the Sea Eagles, was in third place.

After Round 12, Dylan Edwards took the lead in the 2024 Dally M Medal standings before the voting results became secret. Now, Dylan Edwards is one point ahead of Nicho Hynes. Daly Cherry-Evans is four points behind Dylan, sitting in third place. The standings show how well these players are doing in the season.
