Netflix

Netflix is an American streaming service where people can watch movies and TV shows online. It started on January 16, 2007, after first offering a DVD-by-mail rental service. Today, it is one of the biggest streaming services in the world, with over 277.7 million subscribers in more than 190 countries as of July 2024.

Netflix offers both original content (like shows and movies it produces) and content it buys from other creators, covering many different genres and languages. Half of the content in its U.S. library is Netflix Originals. The service is also expanding into mobile games.

As of October 2023, Netflix is the 23rd most-visited website worldwide, with most of its traffic coming from the U.S., followed by the U.K. and Brazil.
