What is a Stitch on Tiktok?
The Stitch feature on TikTok lets you combine clips from other TikTok videos to make a new video. You can use up to five seconds from someone else’s video in your stitch.
It’s a fun way to work with other creators and make creative content. Plus, it can help you get more views and followers by connecting with popular content.
How to Stitch a Video on Tiktok?
To start using Stitch on TikTok, follow these steps:
- Open the TikTok app and find a video you want to stitch.
- Tap the Share button in the bottom right corner of the screen and select Stitch from the options.
- Choose the part of the video you want to use and then click Next.
- Tap the red button to start recording. When you’re finished, click the check mark.
- Edit your video by adding sound, filters, captions, and effects. Set your privacy options and add a caption. Then, click Post.
(Note: Not all TikTok videos can be stitched. Creators must allow others to stitch their videos.)
How to Stitch a Video on TikTok from Camera Roll?
To stitch a pre-recorded video on TikTok, follow these steps:
- Find a video in your TikTok feed that you want to stitch. Tap the Share button in the bottom right corner, scroll to the end of the sharing options, and select Other.
- Choose Copy.
- Open a browser and go to snaptik.app. Paste your copied link into the URL field to download your video without the TikTok watermark.
- Go back to TikTok, tap the + button, and select both the downloaded video and the video you want to upload from your camera roll. Then, click Adjust clips from the right menu.
- Tap Default and trim the downloaded video to five seconds. Finally, tap Next and upload your video.
Tiktok Stitch with Saved Video
You can only use the Stitch feature with existing TikTok videos and new recordings. You can Stitch any video from TikTok, including ones from your Saved folder, as long as the creator allows it. However, your own video response must be recorded directly in the TikTok app.
In other words, you can’t upload videos from your camera roll to Stitch. If you want to use content from your camera roll, you’ll need to download the video you want to Stitch and then edit it together with your response as a regular TikTok video. This method won’t link to the original video and won’t be recognized as a Stitch by the algorithm.
Tips for Stitching on TikTok
Now that you know how to stitch on TikTok, here are some tips to make the most of it:
Join Viral Trends
TikTok loves viral content like dance challenges and popular audio tracks. Use Stitch to add your own twist to these trends.
React to Videos
Reaction videos are popular on TikTok. You can use Stitch to include the original video clip you’re reacting to, so viewers can see both. Try reacting to videos from popular TikTok influencers or brands for a chance to get more followers.
Tell a Story
Use Stitch to create a clear story or connection in your video. This is great for participating in challenges or trends. For instance, the #dontrushchallenge shows people getting ready, and Stitch can show different get-ready routines from around the world.
Use Stitch Sparingly
Don’t overuse Stitch, as it can make your video confusing and disjointed. Use it only when it adds to your video’s story.
Show Off Your Skills
If you’re talented in music, dance, or another performance, use Stitch to highlight your skills. Film yourself performing along with a popular song, and stitch in the original video.
Check the Audio
Make sure the sound in your stitch is clear and synced properly. Take the time to get the audio right.
Be Creative
Have fun with Stitch! Try different ideas and be creative to make your videos stand out.
