Space Marine 2 Multiplayer Not Working

In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, many players are having trouble with the multiplayer mode. While the game is mostly about single-player and co-op experiences, it also includes player-versus-player (PvP) content. Unfortunately, players who are trying to join multiplayer matches are facing significant issues.

The matchmaking system, which is supposed to connect players for multiplayer action, isn't working properly. Players are having trouble finding others to team up with or compete against. This problem is causing frustration as players encounter server issues, long loading times, lag, crashes, and even overheating problems with their CPUs.

Although there was some maintenance aimed at fixing these issues, it hasn't resolved the problems yet. The developers are aware of the situation and are working on improvements. However, players should be prepared for ongoing difficulties and disruptions while they continue to address these problems.

How to Fix Space Marine 2 Multiplayer Not Working?

If you're having trouble with multiplayer in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, where the game gets stuck on the "joining server" screen, here are a few things you can try to fix it:

Turn Off Steam Overlay

Sometimes, the Steam overlay can cause problems. To turn it off, go to your Steam library, right-click on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, choose "Properties," and in the "General" tab, uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game."

Turn Off  Cloud Saves

Cloud saves might also be causing issues. In the same "General" tab, uncheck "Keep game saves in cloud for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2."

Use a Game Code to Invite Friends

After finishing the tutorial, you can generate a game code to invite friends directly. Go to the Lobby Menu, click on the invite friends button, and share the generated code with your friends.

Try Other Simple Fixes

You can also try turning off cross-platform play or restarting your device, as these steps might help clear up minor glitches.

The developers are aware of the issues and are working on a fix, so stay tuned for updates.

How to Access Multiplayer in Space Marine 2?

To start playing multiplayer in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, follow these steps:

Complete the Tutorial

  • Begin a new game and finish the introductory tutorial mission. This mission is necessary to unlock the online multiplayer features.
  • After completing the tutorial, report to Captain Acheran. You'll get your first mission briefing, which will allow you to drop onto Kadaku for the “Skyfire” mission. This unlocks online play.

Access Multiplayer Features

  • Once online play is unlocked, you can invite friends to join your squad or join others. You can also engage in Eternal War PVP matches.

Assemble Your Squad

  • To invite players, use the “Edit Squad” button at the top-right corner of your screen. You can either invite friends through your platform’s friend system or use randomly generated invite codes for crossplay.
  • After forming your squad, choose your game mode using the Battle Map terminal on the Battle Barge.

If you want to dive straight into multiplayer, you can skip the tutorial by selecting the “Skip Intro” option, but it’s recommended to complete it to get a good grasp of the game mechanics.

Space Marine 2

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II is a third-person shooter and hack-and-slash game. It’s the sequel to the 2011 game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, it was released on September 9, 2024. You can play it on PlayStation 5, Windows PCs, and Xbox Series X/S. The game has received mostly positive reviews from critics.

Space Marine 2 Plot

In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, set in the 41st Millennium, you play as Captain Titus of the Ultramarines. After being saved from imprisonment and transformed into a stronger Primaris Marine, Titus returns to his chapter to seek redemption.

The game follows Titus as he fights against two main enemies: the Tyranids, a fierce alien race, and the forces of Chaos, who seek to corrupt everything. The story starts with Titus helping to defend a planet from the Tyranids and discovering a dangerous project that combines Chaos and Necron technology.

Titus learns that this project could potentially destroy those touched by Chaos but is also being manipulated by the Chaos sorcerer Imurah. As he battles through the chaos, Titus manages to destroy the artifact powering the project and helps the Ultramarines push back the forces of Chaos. In the end, he is praised for his bravery and asked to join a new mission, while also being warned of the constant threat of corruption.

Space Marine 2 Gameplay

In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, players control Titus, an Ultramarine, and use a mix of melee and ranged combat from a third-person perspective.

Combat

Players fight weaker enemies with ranged weapons and use melee attacks for tougher foes. They can parry or dodge attacks, and their health is protected by armor. Armor regenerates through execution attacks, while health is restored by finding medkits. If Titus or allies fall, they can be revived within 30 seconds.

Co-op and Multiplayer

The game features a cooperative mode called "Operations" and competitive 6v6 multiplayer modes like Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture and Control. Players can choose from six character classes and customize their avatars with various cosmetic items.
