This happens when you start the game and it tries to log you in, but after a few seconds, you get an error message saying, “Sea of Thieves is currently down for maintenance. Please try again later. The problem seems to only affect PS5 players, as Xbox users haven’t reported it. Fortunately, there's a workaround that can fix this issue.

How to Fix Not Signed in to Sea of Thieves PS5?

To fix this error, do the following,

1. Close Sea of Thieves on your PS5 and go to Settings.
2. Scroll down to Saved Data and Game/App Settings.
3. Choose Saved Data (PS5), then click on Upload or Delete from Console Storage.
4. Go to the Delete tab, find Sea of Thieves, and choose Delete. This only removes your save file, not the game.
5. Wait 5-10 minutes and launch the game again.
6. When it starts, relink your PlayStation and Microsoft accounts.

This should fix the error, but it’s temporary. Some players reported the problem returning in future sessions, so you might need to do this again until the developers fix it.

• Crews can form alliances with other ships to share rewards, but they can still betray and attack each other.

Gameplay Features

• If a player dies, crewmates or allies can revive them within a limited time. If not revived, they go to a ghost ship (the Ferry of the Damned) and wait to respawn.
• There used to be a competitive mode called "Arena" where players fought to collect silver, but it was removed due to low participation.
• A new safer player-versus-environment (PvE) mode called "Safer Seas" was added in December 2023.

Objectives

Players complete voyages for different trading companies:

• Gold Hoarders: Solve riddles or follow maps to find treasure chests.
• Order of Souls: Fight skeletons on various islands.
• Merchant Alliance: Deliver animals or cargo within a time limit.

There are also two smaller factions:
