What is Luck Stat in Metaphor Refantazio?

In Metaphor: ReFantazio, the Luck stat plays an important role by affecting several things in battles. It increases your chances of landing critical hits (which deal extra damage) and inflicting status ailments (which weaken enemies). Luck also helps you find rare items after fights and reduces the chances of your character getting hit with critical attacks or status ailments.

While Luck sounds like a useful stat, focusing on pure damage by boosting Strength or Magic tends to be more reliable. Still, if you really want to, building around Luck could work, especially with the game's Turn Icons system.

Metaphor Refantazio Luck Stat

In Metaphor: ReFantazio, the Luck stat affects anything that involves chance. It does more than just increase the chance of getting items after battles—it impacts a lot of things in the game:

  • Enemies drop more loot when your Luck is higher.
  • You’ll have a better chance of landing critical hits.
  • Multi-hit attacks will strike more times with higher Luck.
  • You’ll recover from status ailments faster.

It’s also likely that Luck affects how often you can inflict status ailments on enemies and the success of instant-kill skills, but more testing is needed to confirm this. If you’re mainly interested in getting more item drops, the Merchant Archetype has a passive skill to boost item drop rates even more!

Metaphor: Refantazio Other Stats

Like luck, there are also some other stats in Metaphor: Refantazio. Here’s a simple breakdown of those stats in Metaphor: ReFantazio and what they affect:

Strength

Strength increases the damage of physical attacks. This includes all basic weapon attacks that don’t use MP, as well as skills that deal Slash, Pierce, or Strike damage, or any skill that says it deals "physical" damage.

Magic

Magic boosts the damage of magical attacks. It affects skills that deal elemental damage like Fire, Ice, Wind, Electric, Light, and Dark. However, it doesn’t affect basic attacks, even for magic-focused characters like Mages or Healers. Surprisingly, Magic doesn’t impact healing spells either, so even characters with low Magic can use healing spells effectively.

Endurance

Endurance reduces the damage you take from enemies. It’s your main defense stat and works for both physical and magical attacks.

Agility

Agility improves your accuracy, evasion, and chance of escaping battles. It also determines the turn order and increases the success of "Steal" skills. Agility is useful for all characters, since even magic attacks can miss in this game.

If you're focusing on evasion, equip gear that boosts Evasion (EVA), though you may have to give up some defense. But, keep in mind, Agility won’t help with skills that have a fixed hit rate.
