Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes is a popular fighting game developed by Capcom, featuring characters from both Marvel Comics and Capcom's video games. Released in arcades in 2000 and later on various consoles and devices, it allows players to choose a team of three characters to fight against opponents. The game stands out with its 2.5D graphics, mixing 2D character sprites with 3D backgrounds.

Critics praised Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for its exciting gameplay, visuals, and diverse character roster, though they noted some issues with the soundtrack and game balance. It has been celebrated as one of the best fighting games ever. After its release, Capcom lost the Marvel license, leading to a long break before they created a sequel, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, released in 2011.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Gameplay

In Marvel vs. Capcom 2, players pick a team of three characters to battle against another team. You can tag in your other team members anytime and use a special "Assist" move to call in a teammate for help during the fight. Each character has three types of assists, which can be attacks or healing moves.

As you fight, you fill a "Hyper Combo Gauge" that lets you perform powerful special attacks. You can also do combos with your whole team or force your opponent to switch fighters with a "snapback" move. The game uses four attack buttons and two assist buttons, simplifying the controls compared to earlier games in the series.
