Qualification Details

  • A medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act).
  • A postgraduate qualification i.e., M.D. in Anaesthesiology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Experience: Three years’ teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Anaesthesiology after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. in Anaesthesiology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • D.M. Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • D.M. in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology (Three years) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto (no experience required) (or) D.M. in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) with one year teaching and/or research experience in recognized institutions/universities in the subject of specialty after obtaining D.M. in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology (two years or five years course).
  • D.M. in Endocrinology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • D.M. in Endocrinology (Three years) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto (no experience required) (or) D.M. in Endocrinology (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) with one year teaching and/or research experience in recognized institutions/universities in the subject of specialty after obtaining D.M. in Endocrinology (two years or five years course).
  • D.M. in Medical Gastroenterology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • D.M. in Medical Gastroenterology (Three years) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto (no experience required) (or) D.M. in Medical Gastroenterology (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) with one year teaching and/or research experience in recognized institutions/universities in the subject of specialty after obtaining D.M. in Medical Gastroenterology (two years or five years course).
  • A postgraduate qualification i.e., M.D. in Microbiology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • Three years’ teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Microbiology after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. in Microbiology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • M.Ch. in Urology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
  • M.Ch. in Urology (Three years) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto (no experience required) (or) M.Ch. in Urology (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) with one year teaching and/or research experience in recognized institutions/universities in the subject of specialty after obtaining M.Ch. in Urology (two years or five years course).

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit relaxable by five (5) years in case of posts reserved for SC/ST candidates, three (3) years in case of posts reserved for OBC candidates.
  • However, No age relaxation would be available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies
  • The persons belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWSs/PwBD must submit the certificate in the requisite proforma duly issued by the authority concerned (if applicable).

Application Fee

  • UR/OBC/EWS - ₹500 + Transaction Charges as applicable
  • SC/ST - ₹250 + Transaction Charges as applicable
  • PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) - Exempted from application fees
  • The last date for payment of application fee through SBI Collect is 27.11.2024 till 4.30 PM. The application fee once remitted will not be refunded. Any other mode of payment will not be accepted.

Terms and Conditions

1. The appointment is purely on CONTRACT BASIS and will be initially for a period of 11 months with effect from the date of joining and extension will be granted for further period, if it is required by the administration. If the contract is not extended further, the same will lapse automatically.

2. The appointment can be terminated at any time before the expiry of the period of 11 months referred to above, with one month’s notice without assigning any reason or if the person’s work is considered unsatisfactory by the competent authority.

3. If the appointee wishes to resign his/her job, he/she has to serve one month’s notice or remit one month’s salary or pay thereof, as the case may be proportionate to the shortfall in the notice period.

4. The appointee shall perform the duties as assigned to him/her. The competent authority reserves the right to assign any duty as and when required. No extra/additional allowances will be admissible in case of such assignment.

5. The appointee shall not be entitled to any benefit like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion, Allowances etc. or any other benefits available to the regular employees of this Institute.

6. The appointee shall not be granted any claim or right for regular appointment to any post of JIPMER Puducherry/JIPMER Karaikal.

7. The appointee shall be on a whole time appointment at JIPMER, Puducherry and shall not accept any other assignment, paid or otherwise and shall not engage himself/herself in a private practice of any kind during the period of contract.

8. The appointment to the said post will be subject to medical fitness from the competent medical board for which he/she will be sent to the designated Medical Authority.

9. On appointment, the appointee will be required to take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India or make a solemn affirmation to that effect in the prescribed proforma.

10. The appointee will not be entitled to any T.A. for attending the interview and joining the appointment.

How to Apply?

  • The closing date for receipt of the application as soft copy and last date for payment of application fee through SBI Collect i.e (27.11.2024, Wednesday) will be considered as cutoff date for computing the upper age limit and experience.
  • Eligible applicants must submit their applications in the prescribed format available on JIPMER website along with the certificate/documents as hard copy to the address mentioned and as soft copy by email to [email protected].
  • The mode of recruitment will be by an online interview through video conferencing. The exact date of interview will be intimated later, however, these are most likely to be held during December 12-14, 2024.
  • Kindly refer to JIPMER website for updates regarding the Interview. Also refer to Terms and Conditions of contractual employment.
  • In addition to submission of hard copy, the applicant must submit soft copy of the above mentioned documents (a) to (k) as TWO PDF. FILES by email on or before 27.11.2024 (Wednesday)
