Jim Gaffigan is an American comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He is known for his clean comedy, which often focuses on topics like fatherhood, laziness, food, and religion. Gaffigan has released several popular comedy specials, such as Mr. Universe, Obsessed, Cinco, and Quality Time, which have all been nominated for Grammy Awards.

He wrote a memoir called Dad Is Fat in 2013 and another book titled Food: A Love Story in 2014. Gaffigan also created and starred in a TV show called The Jim Gaffigan Show, which is based on his life. He works closely with his wife, Jeannie Gaffigan, and they have five children together. Their Catholic faith is a common theme in his comedy.

Jim Gaffigan was born on July 7, 1966, in Elgin, Illinois, as the youngest of six children in his family. His mother, Marcia, was a charity worker who won an award for her needlework, and she passed away from cancer in 1990. His father, Michael, was a banker and also involved in charity work. He died of lung cancer in 1999.

Jim married actress Jeannie Gaffigan in 2003, and they have five children together: Marre (born May 2, 2004), Jack (born November 27, 2005), Katie Louise (born May 10, 2009), Michael (born June 19, 2011), and Patrick (born September 27, 2012). The family lived in a small apartment in Manhattan before moving to a larger home in 2015.
