Eddie Hargitay is the nephew and godson of Mickey Hargitay, Mariska Hargitay's father, who was a famous actor and Mr. Universe in the 1950s. Eddie was born in Hollywood and raised by his Thai-Chinese mother and Hungarian father, who are both first-generation immigrants. He is a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio and loves motorcycles.
To celebrate the end of Season 25 of SVU, Eddie shared a sweet photo on Instagram with his cousin Mariska. In the picture, she is smiling widely in her character Benson's outfit while hugging him.
Eddie Hargitay's Role in Law & Order: SVU
Eddie Hargitay, Mariska Hargitay's cousin, plays Officer Eddie Montero on Law & Order: SVU since the Season 19 finale.
Montero first appears in the two-part finale titled "Remember Me" and "Remember Me Too." In these episodes, the SVU team investigates a complex case involving Lourdes Vega, a woman who was kidnapped and forced into sex trafficking.
During the investigation, Vega panics and briefly takes Montero hostage. He pleads for help from Captain Benson and asks Vega to think about his wife and child at home.
Benson skillfully handles the situation and convinces Vega to let Montero go, ensuring she gets the help she needs.

Eddie Hargitay is the nephew and godson of Mickey Hargitay, who is Mariska Hargitay's father and a famous actor from the 1950s. Eddie is best known for playing Officer Eddie Montero on Law & Order: SVU, but he has also acted in other short films and TV shows.

Mariska Hargitay is an American actress and producer, born on January 23, 1964. She has played Olivia Benson on NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit since 1999, making her character the longest-running role in any American primetime drama. Since 2013, she has been one of the highest-paid actresses on TV. Hargitay has won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award, and she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013. She is also known for her charitable work and activism.
In a recent episode, Benson dealt with a tense situation involving a man named Montero, who was threatened at gunpoint. She managed to talk the situation down and help Montero escape safely, showing her skills and professionalism.
