D.L. Hughley Career
From 1992 to 1993, D.L. Hughley was the first host of ComicView on BET. He also starred in his own show, The Hughleys, from 1998 to 2002, based on his life. He is part of The Original Kings of Comedy and has acted in shows like Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Scrubs. In 2008, he hosted the BET Awards and gave an emotional speech at Bernie Mac's funeral.
In June 2010, D.L. Hughley was a guest moderator on The View and has guest-starred on shows like Glory Daze and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He has written several books, starting with I Want You to Shut the F#ck Up in 2012, and his latest book, How to Survive America, was published in 2021. Since March 2019, he's been hosting The D.L.
