Starting Monday, September 23, a new show called "TJ & Riggins Show" will launch. The post promised that listeners can expect similar content and products as before, but with some changes.

Why Did Ace Leave The Ace and TJ Show?

The statement didn't explain why David 'Ace' Cannon and Ritchie ‘TJ’ Beams decided to split. Notably, Cannon wasn't allowed to announce his exit on air, which surprised many fans. Additionally, Cannon has been silent on social media, providing no clues about his departure.

Earlier this year, Cannon started hosting a solo afternoon show called “Ace & TJ Button” on their streaming platform, but it's unclear if he'll keep doing that now that he’s left the main morning show.

The Ace & TJ Show, a popular morning program from Charlotte, North Carolina, has a strong following in the Southern U.S. Cannon and Beams created unique on-air personalities that worked well together: Cannon, known as “the rock star,” shared his music knowledge, while Beams played the role of the typical radio host.

David 'Ace' Cannon and Ritchie ‘TJ’ Beams first met while working part-time at KQID in Alexandria, LA, in 1991. They teamed up for morning shows and later moved to WZYP in Huntsville, AL, in 1995. In 1998, they joined “Kiss 95.1” WNKS in Charlotte, where their show became a staple.

Over the years, they moved between various stations, including “Channel 96.1” WHQC in 2012 and back to WNKS in July 2022. Most recently, they settled at Beasley Classic Hits “K104.7” WKQC in May 2024. Their show is also broadcasted on other stations, including “Q103.1” WQNU in Louisville, KY, and several others across North Carolina, Missouri, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Who is the New Co-Host Now?

The new co-host for the rebranded "TJ & Riggins Show" will be Bryan ‘Riggins’ Weber. Riggins has been with the show since 2009, starting as an intern and becoming Vice President of Programming for The Ace & TJ Network in 2016. Starting September 23, he will officially join Beams as the co-host.
