Grave Torture Ending Explained

The country falls into chaos when reports about “grave torture” start spreading. People rush to cemeteries with recorders, hoping to capture sounds of the dead suffering underground. Many of them claim to hear what they are looking for, while newspapers and TV networks warn that anyone who denies God’s mercy or punishment is doomed to hell.

Sita struggles to understand how grave torture can be real when someone as terrible as Ilham seems to be at peace in his grave. When she visits Ilham’s burial site for answers, she finds it empty. Suddenly, she finds herself in a strange tunnel from her past, surrounded by spirits who plead for her help with Ismail, a boy whose death is connected to Ilham. Sita realizes that helping Ismail is more about facing her own beliefs than saving him.

When Sita manages to help Ismail escape the tunnel, she is suddenly back in reality beside Ilham’s lifeless body in the grave. She understands that everything she experienced—being called a heretic and Nani’s death—was just a hallucination. Then, she sees a snake slithering into Ilham’s mouth, leading to a horrific scene where his corpse is tortured in unimaginable ways. Blood covers Ilham's body as he is bitten by snakes and devoured by a terrifying djinn that keeps asking, “Who is your god?”

Witnessing this brutal punishment shakes Sita to her core. She realizes that grave torture is real and not just a scare tactic. Falling to her knees, she begs God for forgiveness. Just as the ground beneath her begins to crumble and threatens to swallow her whole, her brother Adil pulls her out to safety.
