Flea Bodine, whose real name is Mont Everett Bodine IV, was born in Alton to parents Penny Jo and Mont Everett Bodine III. He showed his musical talent from a young age and continued to develop it during his college years.

Flea married his beloved wife, Lisa Highfill, on February 19, 2005, in Wood River, Illinois. Flea was also passionate about running and enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs. His family played a significant role in supporting his music career and personal life. 

Flea Bodine Musical Journey

Flea Bodine was educated at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he began his musical journey with friends. Along with Carlos Huddleston, Mark Kanak, Brian Leitner, Doug Nothing, Rob Wagoner, and Andy Dykeman, he formed the band Judge Nothing.

The band toured across the United States and released two albums with Thick Records, becoming well-known in the pop punk scene. Flea played bass guitar and co-wrote many of their songs, sharing the stage with famous artists like Green Day, Joan Jett, Fugazi, Jesus Lizard, and Season to Risk.

Even after the band broke up, Flea's love for music never faded. He continued to play bass for friends and neighbors. In 2002, he started working at SIUE in the Morris University Center Bookstore, where he was a retail associate at the time of his death. Flea's musical legacy lives on through his contributions to Judge Nothing and his passion for music.
