Doc Willie Ong Illness and Health Update
Dr. Willie Ong, a well-known cardiologist and online health expert, shared on Saturday, September 14, that he is fighting abdominal cancer.
He said on Facebook, “It’s serious, but I will fight this battle. For all cancer patients in the Philippines, we will all get better together." The tumor is very large.
He said it’s one of the biggest they’ve seen. He’s been having trouble breathing, feeling very tired, and having a hard time swallowing since April 2023.

Dr. Willie Ong is struggling with cancer. In October 2023, Ong said he began to have severe back pain. He described it as the worst pain he had ever felt—so intense that he cried all night. He compared it to feeling like a knife was stabbing his back.
Ong believes that stress might have caused his cancer. Despite his illness, he has stayed positive.
At first, he was sad, but now he's happy because he believes there is a purpose for everything. Whether he gets better or not doesn't really matter to him.
He feels lucky to have a supportive wife, Liza, who is also a doctor, and he loves his children very much. Ong thinks his illness has brought his family closer together.
He encourages his followers to spread love and kindness, rather than feeling sad. Ong used to write for The STAR, ran for vice president in 2022, and was a consultant for former health secretary Enrique Ona.

Willie Tan Ong is a Filipino doctor who became well-known for sharing medical advice on Facebook and YouTube. He ran for the Philippine Senate in 2019, using his social media popularity to help his campaign. In the 2022 presidential election, he was a vice-presidential candidate, running with former Manila mayor Isko Moreno.

Doc Willie Ong Wife
Willie Tan Ong is married to Anna Liza Ramoso, who is also a doctor. They met in 1992 when Ong was working as an intern at a hospital and got married the following year. They have two daughters.
On September 14, 2024, Ong announced that he has been diagnosed with sarcoma and is currently receiving chemotherapy.
