Amy Porter, a 43-year-old indigenous woman from the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, was found dead after being reported missing. Her family discovered her body on September 22 in a desert area near Yucaipa, California. She had been missing since September 14, when she was last seen in Lake Elsinore.

Family members believe she was trying to escape from her boyfriend, who has a history of domestic violence. They said he threatened them before. Initially, they thought she was just away for the day, but when they learned she was still missing, they alerted the authorities.

A “Feather Alert” was issued for her. The investigation into her death is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet. The Morongo Band of Mission Indians expressed their sadness over her loss and are waiting for updates on the investigation.

Security footage showed Bell leaving the hotel alone, while Porter was later seen fleeing from a serious car accident on Live Oak Canyon Road. Her body was discovered in a ravine on September 22, one day after a Feather Alert was issued for her.
